Angela Easterling brandishes her songwriting chops with rootsy, refreshing, homespun tunes. Her music is not quite country, not quite folk, but all together unique and engaging.
February 19 | O'Mainnin's Pub
Angela is a four-time Kerrville New Folk Finalist, a Telluride Troubadour and a two-time Wildflower Performing Songwriter Finalist. The Boston Herald named her song “The Picture” “Best Political Country Song” in their Year’s best music. Her most recent release, 2015’s “Common Law Wife”, went all the way to number 1 on the Roots Music Report Americana Country Airplay Chart, and remained in the top 5 on that chart for nearly 2 months, closing the year out as #12 on the top 100 albums, and earning much praise in the press. Roger McGuinn, of the Byrds, called her “a bright shining star on the horizon!” and went on to say, “Her CD brought me back to the time the Byrds recorded “Sweetheart of the Rodeo” – tradition meets youthful exuberance.” Angela is currently playing a full schedule of shows and is at work on her sixth album.

About the film:
Legend of Lead Belly
Huddie Ledbetter was born into poverty, battled racism, and did time, but in spite of his early hardships, or perhaps because of them, he became one of the great musicians of the 20th century. We trace the life and career of Lead Belly, a man praised by critics and revered by artists, whose unique music crossed a host of genres and influenced countless industry legends, from The Beatles to Led Zeppelin to Nirvana and beyond. See how his talent, humanity, and determination defeated all that stood in his way to make his voice heard, then and now.
