Who is Ian Feathers?
It’s been said “He’s as authentic as a tree of oak” and “He’s as genuine as the Bristol sign, as reflected on his new album “Long Haul,” as referred by the great music journalist Tom Netherland.
Feathers is no stranger to music. By the age of 7 he was picking up the guitar and taking piano lessons. At 18, he had more than 5 years advanced training on trumpet and studied under Dr. Michael Fansler and Steven Cooper.
In 2001, Feathers jumped in as bassist for the local jam band Stormy Monday. In 2006-2008, he jumped in as bassist for a few with the founder of Appalachian Reggae, Ras Alan & The Lions; he even made a guest appearance at the Bristol Rhythm n’ Roots midnight jam. In 2008, he co-founded the Grassroots Gringos, a jam grass band out of Knoxville TN. While there, he jammed with the likes of Cruz Contreras and others. In 2009-2010, Feathers was a regular at the Santa Fe Brew Co open mic. He jumped in as bassist with local band Pigment. During this time, they shared the stage with Carolyn Wonderland and Yonder Mountain String Band. They even headlined the Albuquerque International Balloon Festival, which is a pretty sweet gig.
Feathers took a brief hiatus in 2011-2013 for the birth of his son. During this time, songwriting took over and the Feathers family moved to Waxhaw NC. Ian was a regular in the Charlotte NC scene, playing open mics and gigs with many of the local musicians in the area.

Mike Farris may be best known as lead vocalist and writer for acclaimed '90s rock band The Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies, but it was only after he pursued his own musical direction in the early 2000s that he found his calling. Taking a path that intertwines rock, blues and gospel has allowed him to rediscover and reinterpret traditional gospel music and add his own mix of Stax influenced blue-eyed soul. Farris' "Shine for all the People" was the 2015 Grammy Award winner for Best Roots Gospel album.

Christmas has been an important part of Robert Earl Keen’s repertoire ever since he released “Merry Christmas from the Family” on his 1994 LP Gringo Honeymoon. Part of the fun is that each edition of the show has a different theme, and each member of his band gets a chance to shine. In honor of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, Keen’s theme for this year’s tour is COUNTDOWN TO CHRISTMAS: Lunar Tunes & Looney Times. This Christmas-variety-show-meets-country-revue stops in Bristol as part of its 15-City tour. Fans will blast off with Keen's classic “Merry Christmas from the Family,” fan favorites, and “unearthly” covers from his band members.
“For the people who know the song, they’ll know what to expect. For people who don’t, what I tell them is that if you are not in the Christmas spirit, come to this show and I promise when you walk out you will be.” –Robert Earl Keen
Opening the tour is Austin-based, swamp-pop-soul supergroup Shinyribs. After appearing on Austin City Limits, Shinyribs is selling-out shows across the U.S. Their unique Texas/New Orleans/Memphis blues/soul vibe is irresistible! Named 2017 Best Austin Band at Houston Chronicle's prestigious Music Awards, and Album of the Year from the Austin American Statesman.

Americana Music Association Recording Artist, Sugar Lime Blue, is truly a genre crossing band as proven by the title track, off of their sophmore release "Move That Earth", which became a top 3 radio single in the country genre as reported by Spins Tracking System(STS/New Music Weekly) The album was favorably reviewed by critics including respected Americana outlet The Alternate Root. Meanwhile, the band was featured on the Grateful Dead's Website and Social Media for their cover of "Little Sadie" a song rarely played by the Dead themselves, but included as part of Sugar Lime Blues weekly cover series "The #SundayShoutOut. These inclusions, and many more, show how the band continues to transcend genres. Sugar Lime Blue is redefining Americana, drawing from the 3 main American stylings of Jazz, Blues and Country, to create a purely unique sound. Classic Rock, Blues, and Traditional Country are all part of a musical offering that draws from the best of the familiar past with a twist of something new for the modern listener. Pull up a chair, lend an ear and get lost in the smooth grooves, winding musical passages and lilting vocals that is Sugar Lime Blue.
