August 31 | Bristol Station Brews & Taproom
Come for the beer and stay for the music ... or come for the music and stay for the beer. As long as you come and stay! The Lauren Cole Band is looking forward to our second visit to Bristol Station Brews & Taproom. The first one was memorable because of the thunderstorms and the many people who stuck it out with us.
The Lauren Cole Band is from Johnson City, Tennessee, and can best be described as blues with an infusion of soul and rock. Every venue she has played has enthusiastically invited her back. Dom Avento plays the bass, and it's when he gets out the upright that the fun really begins. Guitarists Joe Avento and Mike Murphy are joined by drummer Josh Shores.
"Fun and full of energy" is how PigeonForge.com described one of her shows at the Hard Rock Cafe. "Johnson City, TN native Lauren Cole brings no small amount of local flavor to the stage. Her powerful vocals are backed by an understated but no less talented ensemble that includes the always on-point Josh Shores on drums and Mike Murphy on guitar."
From Lightnin' Charlie, voted Favorite Musician in the Mountain South, "Great stuff! But I'm a sucker for good songs, good players, gutsy singers, pretty girls, hot rod guitars and doghouse basses."

September 2 | Blackbird Bakery
She brings a recipe consisting of equal parts Southern Appalachia, 1940's Country Swing, and 1960's folk revival to her music. With her sweetly stirring voice, Momma Molasses has been likened by listeners to Patsy Cline, "Mother" Maybelle Carter, early (pre-rock n’ roll) Janis Joplin.
Join Blackbird Bakery for live bluegrass at 7pm.
September 6–15 | Theatre Bristol
Theatre Bristol presents the fairytale comedy "The Trial of the Big Bad Wolf" on stage at the Theatre Bristol ARTspace, weekends September 6-15. Camille Gray directs a cast of 21 from around the region in this fractured fairy tale comedy for all ages. Tickets are on sale now at www.TheatreBristol.org.
The Wolf: villain or victim? The Three Pigs: innocent or at fault? The Jurors (Miss Muffet, Bo Peep, Cinderella and Humpty-Dumpty, to name a few): solid citizens or characters with a past? And what about Judge Wise O. Al? Is justice on his side—or does he have a secret to hide? Then there's the media—a reporter, newscaster and town crier. Have they come to accurately report the proceedings—or to turn the courtroom into a media circus? And who is that surprise witness at the end? The answers to these profound questions and even more are revealed once and for all in this rollicking, fun-filled, action-packed trial-of-the-century (Dramatic Publishing).
The Trial of the Big Bad Wolf opens September 6, and runs for two weekends at the Theatre Bristol ARTspace, Fridays at 7:30 pm, Saturdays at 7:30 pm, and Sundays at 2:30 pm, closing on September 15. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors and students, and are on sale at www.TheatreBristol.org.
