Three-time Grammy Award recipient and 11-time Grammy nominee Steve Earle is a cornerstone artist of Americana music. One of the most acclaimed singer-songwriters of his generation; he has released 20 albums, a number of them with his longtime band the Dukes. Earle and the Dukes are on tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of Copperhead Road, Earle’s third album, which was released to widespread acclaim in 1998. Copperhead Road is called Earle’s first “rock album” because it introduces country music's storytelling and three-chord structures to rockabilly and contemporary rock music. Earle himself described it as “heavy-metal bluegrass.” It more than lives up to that description, hitting a just-right synthesis of acoustic strumming and electric guitar power chords (not to mention the occasional bagpipe). In addition to performing Copperhead Road in its entirety, Earl includes tunes from his 2017 release “So You Wanna Be An Outlaw” which explores his country songwriting roots and includes collaborations with Willie Nelson, Johnny Bush and Miranda Lambert.
Featuring special guests The Mastersons. Husband and wife duo of Chris Masterson (guitar and vocals) and Eleanor Whitmore (violin and vocals), have been integral members of Steve Earle’s band for many years and are opening for Earle on this tour. They have released three albums filled with irresistible melodies, buoyant harmonies and stellar songwriting.

Believe in Bristol announced its participation in the ninth annual Small Business Saturday on November 24th to support small businesses in Historic Downtown Bristol. Founded by American Express® in 2010, Small Business Saturday® is a day to celebrate the small businesses that help support their neighborhoods and is held every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Now in its eighth year, Small Business Saturday has been embraced as part of the holiday shopping tradition as each year shoppers, businesses and public officials come together to Shop Small® and show their neighborhood pride.
Understanding the important contributions small businesses make to their communities, Believe in Bristol is pleased to be part of Small Business Saturday and the Neighborhood Champion program. On November 24 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., the greater Bristol area is encouraged to take part in the Small Business Saturday. Stop by to support small businesses and pick up some unique gifts for the holidays. Shoppers can also expect to receive Shop Small® giveaways like tote bags, buttons and balloons as well as special sales and promotions. This year, be sure to pick up your Passport to Prizes in participating businesses and complete 15/20 stops in Downtown Bristol to be entered in for drawings for some awesome prizes! No purchase necessary to get a stamp on your Passport, just have to make it in the door (it'll be hard to pass up the unique gifts once you're in those doors, though)!
American Express created the Neighborhood Champion program to help rally communities around Small Business Saturday and is working alongside numerous business organizations to support local Small Business Saturday celebrations throughout the country. Participating organizations include the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives, the American Independent Business Alliance (AMIBA), the International Downtown Association, The Latino Coalition, the National Main Street Center, the U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
“Small Business Saturday plays a key role in driving customer traffic and growing revenue for our Historic Downtown during the important holiday retail season,” says Maggie Bishop, Believe in Bristol Executive Director. “By shopping local and small, the majority of the money stays within the community. We’re also encouraging consumers to ‘dine small’ by grabbing a bite at a local eatery.”
Small business owners can learn more about taking part in Small Business Saturday and download free marketing materials on www.shopsmall.com. Consumers can also visit the site to find small businesses to shop at on Small Business Saturday.
