Join Bristol Public Library throughout February to enjoy a Rom-Com Movie Marathon!
Bob Rueland (portrayed by David Duchovny) spends his days working, grappling with the tragic loss of his wife; Grace Briggs (Minnie Driver), after receiving a life-saving heart transplant, continues to recover and put her life back together. When they meet at the local Irish-Italian restaurant, Bob and Grace discover a mutual attraction, but, unbeknownst to either of them, Grace received her heart transplant on the same night Bob lost his wife.
Rated PG. 115 minutes.

If you would like to perform sign-up in the event discussion or drop by the shop & add your name in writing the day of. If you reserve a slot, make sure you arrive 30 minutes before or you might get skipped. Please stay & support the other performers if you are on stage that night! Music, open jams, spoken word, comedy, poetry, & other forms of art are all welcome!

BPL will offer a free showing of Sergeant York (1941) for its monthly Classic Movie Corner on February 22. Starring Gary Cooper, Sergeant York depicts the life and heroic endeavors of a Tennessee sharpshooter named Alvin C. York. York (Cooper) became famous during World War I for single-handedly killing 35 enemy soldiers and capturing another 132 men in a single day in the Argonne Forest.
Popcorn and water will be provided to all movie attendees, so make sure to snag a seat!

From East Tennessee, The Diamonds play a diverse mix of music, specializing in jazz standards. The group performs at various venues and events throughout the region, including weddings, parties, and restaurants. They have also volunteered at many nursing homes, assisted living homes, and charitable organizations in the area.
February 23 | Bloom Cafe & Listening Room
This event is free to attend and donations are accepted near the door for this fundraiser. There will be 12 hours of music! Bluegrass, Old Time, Pickin, etc. Musicians are donating their time and talent to help raise money for the Fisher House.
Fisher House Foundation builds comfort homes where military & veterans families can stay free of charge, while a loved one is in the hospital. These homes are located at military and VA medical centers around the world.
100% of money donated will go straight to the Fisher House Foundation.

Loose Leaves are an alternative collective from East Tennessee. Fusing elements from multiple genres, Folk to Hip Hop, Loose Leaves have developed a sound all their own. Their self-produced recordings convey a strong sense of writing and arrangement complimented by earnest lyrics and vocal melody.
Bringing a fervent love of performance and music to the stage a live show is even better than their studio work. With an honest and humble philosophy Loose Leaves seek to make a connection with their listeners that will form long lasting relationships through music.

February 27 | Birthplace of Country Music Museum
The Birthplace of Country Music Museum will hold its next volunteer training session on Tuesday, February 27 from 3 to 6 pm. Volunteers are needed to assist in the galleries on a daily basis, help in archives and collections, provide curatorial research and exhibit assistance, support special events, assist in The Museum Store, and act as docents for guided adult and school tours.
Training is provided at one 3-hour session that provides a detailed introduction to the museum and the volunteer program, including a chance for you to pinpointyour area of interest at the museum and learn more about the ins-and-outs of being a museum volunteer.
As a volunteer, you will also have many opportunities for continuing learning and training at the museum. Most of all, you will have fun as part of the volunteer team!

March 2 | Downtown Bristol
On Friday, March 2, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., downtown will be filled with art lovers as several galleries and some local favorites join together to host another Art D’Vine event! This art walk offers patrons the chance to gain after-hours access to merchants, sample domestic and international wines, and enjoy a range of works from artists across the region.
As with the previous gallery hops, participants are invited to stroll around Historic Downtown Bristol, stopping and enjoying all that our downtown has to offer! Refreshments will be provided and many of the galleries will feature different varieties of wine for sampling. Those who complete their passport and visit each stop will be entered into a raffle to win a prize!
This event is free to the public, though there is a suggested one-time donation of $5 with the proceeds supporting the work of the Arts & Entertainment District of Historic Downtown Bristol, TN/VA.

Believe in Bristol is gearing up for a BRAND NEW spring fundraiser, Dancing Downtown: Adult Prom! Join us Friday, March 23, 2018 at the Bristol Train Station and party with a purpose!
This event includes all your favorite prom staples from balloon arches and photo booths to finger foods and a DJ with the added bonus of games and a bar! Nominate your friends and vote for King and Queen, dance the night away with our DJ, and create fun memories along the way — all while supporting a local non profit organization! This event is open to anyone and everyone over the age of 21. Relive your high school glory days: dust off that old dress, suit, or just use the night as an excuse to look good and have fun!
TICKETS ON SALE NOW! Individual and couple tickets will be available for sale both at the Believe in Bristol office and online HERE for $25 and $40 respectively. Tables will be available for purchase through the Believe in Bristol Office only at $150 for 8 seats (table quantity limited). Tickets include entry, food, two drinks, and photo booth access. King and Queen nominations, extra drinks, games, and official photos will be cash only.
