About Chris Long
Growing up in the mountains of Southwest Virginia the son of a musician, Chris has been around music his whole life. Picking up his first guitar at the age of twelve, he became a young musician that has played in several bands and groups including a regional band that he formed with his father Melvin in the late 90’s.

After taking several years off from music to pursue his education, Chris has returned to music as a singer songwriter performing regionally for the past year. With strong influences from his Heartland Rock roots with artists such as Bruce Springsteen and John Mellencamp, he enjoys writing about life with a little twist of history to it.

Coming from a region that is deeply rooted in coal mining and farming Chris loves telling the stories of people we see every day that go untold. Passionately painting a picture in your mind, he will make you identify and feel the struggles and triumphs of life, love, loss and war like no other.

Catfish Frye Band is the Tri-Cities based "Rockin Boogie Blues" band! If you like to feel the soulful old school electric blues along with tappin your feet to the boogie feelin then this is the band for you. Several blues/rock classics are thrown in to cover all styles of blues.


May 28 | Bristol Brewery

Bristol Brewery welcomes WyldeHeart to the stage this Saturday at 8pm. The Foodie Fiction food truck will also be on site serving dinner. Come out for a great time!

Three Cheers and a Tiger for Vintage Base Ball!

June 1 | Birthplace of Country Music Museum

At 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum, Adam “Butter Bean” Alfrey will bring to life the national pastimeas it was played in 1864. Back then, base ball (most often written astwo words) was played without gloves and ascribed to be a gentleman’s game.Butter Beanplays for the Knoxville HolstonsVintage Base Ball Club, a member club of the Tennessee Association of Vintage Base Ball, that entertains and educates through the re-creation of 19th-century base ball and, more specifically, through the interpretation of the Holstons, a team that first played in Knoxville in 1867. Come learn about Tennessee’s earliest base ball clubs, as well as therules, equipment, uniforms, and customs you can expect to witness when watching a vintage match!* Hurrah!

This event — part of theprogramming for the museum's ongoing special exhibit “Made in Tennessee: Manufacturing Milestones” — is free and open to the public.
