Professional Development Training: Harassment Prevention & Diversity at the Bristol Chamber of Commerce

Come out to a January Professional Development Training session on Harassment Prevention & Diversity on Tuesday, January 28 from 8:30 to 11:30am. The target audience for this session is Human Resources directors, business owners, managers and supervisors. The class, limited to 40 participants, teaches attendees what harassment can look like in the workplace; how to prevent harassment; how to handle the offended and the offender; what diversity looks like in the workplace; how to help an employee co-exist and be productive; and what legal issues occur for business owners. This class is presented by Hunter, Smith & Davis. RSVP is required by January 24. Training is FREE for Bristol Chamber of Commerce members and available to non-members for $35 per person. Voices of the Mountains: From Bach to the Future at the Paramount

Voices of the Mountains' From Bach to the Future performance will be at the Paramount on Saturday, January 25 at 7:30pm. This year’s Voices of the Mountains concert will be accompanied by a chamber orchestra and will explore music from Johann Sebastian Bach as well as some of the lesser known Bach’s such as Johann Christoph Friedrich, Carl Philip Emmanuel Bach, and the satirical Peter Schickele as P.D.Q. Bach. All of the music is tuneful and entertaining, yet unique in character to each composer. TriCities Stand Up Paddleboard store at 514 State Street has changed to winter hours. They are now open Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition, they have just added a new board line YOLO (You Only Live Once) with artistic graphics, a line of suction cup accessories, and paddling clothing. They will also be at the TriCities Annual Boat Show at the Meadowview in Kingsport from Friday, January 24th to Sunday, January 26. There will be special show discounts on many items.
