BCMA Presents: House Concert with Jesse Winchester — Limited Tickets Available!

Saturday, July 21st, 6:30pm at Theatre Bristol, Birthplace of Country Music Alliance hosts an intimate evening with singer/songwriter Jesse Winchester. Only a limited number of tickets are available and a sell-out crowd is expected. Tickets are $75 per person, and reservations must be made in advance. To make reservations, call the BCMA office at 423-573-4898. Joan Baez, Elvis Costello, and Reba McEntire have all recorded his music. He is also the artist Jimmy Buffet claims as his "personal hero." Known for his politics as well as his music, Winchester fled to Canada in the late 60s in revolt of the Vietnam War. Winchester catapoulted into the spotlight in the early 70s with American folk-country classics like "Yankee Lady", "Brand New Tennessee Waltz" and "Biloxi". Having recorded ten albums in his career to date, Winchester was awarded an ASCAP Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007.

Bowls Make It Better at Kil'n Time

Tickets are on sale for Bowls Make it Better,a benefit for Healing Hands. For a $25 donation, you get to have dinner in the studio, hear a great concert with Symphony Rags, and take home a handcrafted bowl, all while helping provide health care for the working uninsured. This great event is coming up Friday, July 20, from 6-8 p.m. Dozens of artists have pitched in to make and paint more than 120 bowls, and they are gorgeous. It's your chance to take home original art! Kil'n Time is only selling 100 tickets for this special evening — and last year we sold out — so make sure to call the studio or come by to save your spot. Tickets are $25 each, and all proceeds go to Healing Hands. Bowls will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the door. If you want to know more, give us a ring at 423.573.9950.

Set in Historic Downtown Bristol, Border Bash continues on Friday July 20, 2012 in the 600 block of State Street. The evening’s events will start with children’s activities, crafters, and concessions at 6PM. Live music begins at 7:00PM with Underhill Rose followed up by Megan Jean & The KFB around 8:30PM. As always, Border Bash is free to the public!

Music & Movies in Cumberland Square Park every Thursday night! Music & Movies are FREE courtesy of BVU, Bristol VA Park & Recreation Department and Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion. Each night the concert will start at 6:30 pm and the movie will begin at 9:00 pm. Each movie is family friendly and participants are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket. Register for Theatre Bristol 2012 Summer Camp

July 16 — 20, 2012 — Theatre Bristol's 2012 Summer Camp is open to children ages 6 through 17 who are interested in the performing arts. The camp runs daily from July 23-27th 9 AM to 3 PM with a special performance for parents on July 27th at 1 PM in the ARTspace. Students will learn about stage direction, movement, voice, audition techniques, and much more while rehearsing for their very own show! The cost is just $125 with scholarships available. There is a REGISTRATION DAY, on Wednesday, July 18th at the Theatre Bristol Office from 4-6PM for those not yet registered.
