Believe in Bristol recognizes accomplishments of board members!

Congratulations!
Believe in Bristol, a non-profit Main Street program dedicated to the revitalization and historic preservation of Downtown Bristol, is proud to acknowledge the professional accomplishments of three of its members on the Board of Directors.
Peyton Boyd, a Bristol native, has been a board member of Believe in Bristol since its inception in 2001, as well as the Design Committee Chairperson. An Abingdon-based architect, Peyton has recently received the William C. Noland Medal from the Virginia Society of the American Institute of Architects. Sometimes equated to a lifetime achievement award, the William C. Noland Medal is the organization’s highest honor bestowed upon an architect. In presenting this award, the Society recognized the decades of dedicated and generous service Boyd has given to his profession as well as his impassioned and public advocacy of good design.
Jennifer Wilson, Believe in Bristol board member is a professional photographer and Director of Communications for the Bristol Chamber of Commerce/ Bristol Conventions and Visitors Bureau. Wilson has recently been chosen by Hipstamatic, a popular iPhone application to create a snapshot of life in Bristol VA/TN for their global project, “Adventures in HipstaLand”. This project is a nine image story that documents the world one personal image story at a time. Wilson’s work was selected by Hipstamatic amongst over 12,000 other photos, and Bristol was the first American City to be selected. Other communities selected were Hong Kong, Toronto, Zimbabwe and Venice.
Justin Wiseman, a newer Bristol resident has served on the Believe in Bristol Board of Directors since 2010. An account manager for Sears Commercial responsible for large projects and negotiations with contractors, Wiseman was recently named Associate of the Year by the Home Builders Association of Greater Kingsport. Wiseman was selected amongst a peer group of 10 others due to his strong support of the building industry with outstanding service and a quality product. His dedicated service to the community and organization as a whole was also recognized.
“We are very fortunate at Believe in Bristol to have a very dedicated volunteer board of directors,” says Christina Blevins, Executive Director. ”But we are also particularly proud of the fact that so many of the volunteers who sit on our board contribute a tremendous amount through other avenues to Bristol and the Tri-Cities communities as well.”
For more information on the board members highlighted in this press release, please contact Christina Blevins, at 423-573-2200.
