Inari Wine Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Specials and Events Throughout May!
May 1–31, 2013
2013 marks the 10th anniversary of Inari Wines, which has become a fixture in downtown Bristol, Virginia. As a way of saying “thank you” to the customers and community who have made their success possible, Inari will feature drawings, weekly specials, and other events throughout the month of May.
Each Saturday in May, Inari Wines will feature 10 wines at their weekly Saturday tastings from 4-6:45pm. Each wine featured in a May tasting will be 10% off for the following week. Every Saturday, tasters will also have a chance to win 10 free wine tastings. One grand prize winner who attended a tasting during the month will receive a $100 gift certificate.
Owners Paul and Aulikki Brandt opened Inari Wines in May of 2013, in a 700 sq. ft. location across the street from their current, 3,000 sq. ft. building at 39 Piedmont Avenue. Over the years, the shop has developed a refined selection based on the Brandts’ personal experience, as well as customer requests, recommendations from their knowledgeable distributors, and their extensive knowledge of the various tastes and interests of their loyal customers. The store now offers not only fine wines, but craft beers, artisan cheeses, gourmet foods, and other gifts.
“We like to say that the only thing we pay more attention to than our selection of wines is our customers,” said Paul. He continues, “Grocery stores are stocked by the distributors, usually with product that isn’t selling well in specialty shops like ours. We personally taste most wines we buy to ensure our store is stocked with great quality wines at a variety of price points.”
In 2012, the Brandts completed expansions that added a dedicated education space to the store. A primary goal of the expansion was to accommodate the increasingly popular Beer Tastings on Friday evenings and Wine Tastings on Saturday evenings (both from 4-6:45pm), which feature original educational content produced in-house to supplement the experience with interesting facts about the beverages as well as comprehensive tasting notes.
This year, Inari Wines was voted #1 in Bristol in the Bristol Herald Courier's annual “Best of Bristol” business feature. The shop has won the award 6 years running, and the Brandts are very grateful for the community’s support.
“We wouldn’t be here without our customers,” says Aulikki Brandt. “That’s why we’re having the special events in May. We want to show them how much we appreciate them.”
