Full Moon Jam at the Downtown Center

May 07, 2013 | 12 am

Full Moon Jam is held every Tuesday and Thursday, May through September, from 7pm at the Downtown Center, 810 State Street. This year there will be over 30 bands at no charge — from country and Southern rock to bluegrass and nostalgic music!

Tuesday, May 7 will feature the music of the Holston Mountain Boys. The Holston Mountain Boys was originated by Gene Boyd and Leon Kiser. The boys today are carrying on the tradition of solid-driving and soulful bluegrass music. They are noted as the favorite bluegrass band of the Bristol, VA-TN community. Members of the band have been seen jammin' around the scene at Merlefest, Galax, and Rockygrass. They've played their fair share of festivals as well as shows at venues such as: Java J's, (sold out shows) and the Paramount Theater of Bristol. They have also been featured on a CMT special called "Small Town Secrets: Gators, Guts, and Guitars". The original songs and material they play are guarenteed to grab your attention and and keep your feet in the groove.
