The StereoFidelics at O'Mainnin's Pub
February 14, 2013 | 12 am
The StereoFidelics live in concert at O'Mainnin's Pub historic Downtown Bristol on Feb 14.
The StereoFidelics are a high-energy, original retro-alt-rock band that blends mind-bending improvisation and extreme instrumental choreography to deliver an exciting show for both the eyes and ears. By showcasing their multi-instrumental capability, they are able to operate completely as a duet and deliver a full sound. Chris shreds solos and lays down the groove on the guitar, tickles the electric piano, sings lead/harmony vocals, and pounds out synth basslines via a floor keyboard while Melissa contributes lead/harmony vocals, holds down the rhythm on the kit, and throws in string pads and raging violin solos. Extreme touring over the last three years (600 shows, +/-) has given their live show an intense tightness, both technically and emotionally. It's difficult to ascribe an exact sound to the pair (but then again, what good groups make it easy?); they blend elements of indie, rock ‘n’ roll, alternative, classical, world, and alternative into a mix that sounds so familiar, yet different than anything other group. Praised as one of the best "undiscovered" live acts on the road, they turn each performance into an event that is hard to forget and makes the listener question..., "maybe I haven't heard it all before..."
