The Old Custom House and Gregory Management Company, LLC are honored to present to the area a special and solemn exhibit in memory of our nation’s fallen heroes from Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation New Dawn. This exhibit will display all the United States military men and women who have given their lives since 9/11 in Iraq and Afghanistan.

It was a little over a year ago that Mr. Joe Gregory from Gregory Management Company was in a grocery store check out line when he noticed a newspaper headline that read “America’s deadliest day in Afghanistan”. He mentioned something to the clerk about the great price our country is paying in this current conflict and he was shocked when the clerk seriously expressed no knowledge of the subject. It was then that he decided something needed to be done to help our community become more aware of the great price our country has paid over the last 8 years. Today, there are reports of heavy casualties in Iraq and Afghanistan and we must not forget these young people and what they are fighting for. We are sure that as you view this exhibit you will come away with a better understand of the depth and magnitude of the expression, “freedom is not free”.

There will also be a section of our exhibit honoring and saluting the men and women currently serving in the military. We will be encouraging visitors to the exhibit to pray for these service men and women and their families. We are asking family members, churches and others in the community to send us these names as the military is not allowed to share those who are actively serving. Please send name, branch of the military, rank, hometown and where they are currently serving to vwhitmire@jrgregory.com.

The location of this exhibit is 620 Shelby Street, Bristol, Tennessee, the old Tennessee Post Office also known as The Old Custom House. The exhibit will be open to the public free of charge beginning November 5, 2010 from noon till 4:00PM. The exhibit will be open Monday through Friday except on Thanksgiving Day and the day after; closing on Tuesday, November 30, 2010
