State Street Farmers Market

September 04, 2010 | 12 am

Located at the Downtown Center on State Street in historic Bristol Tenn./Va., State Street Farmer's Market was established in 1999 as a means of providing local farmers with a location to sell their goods. With no permanent building on the grounds at that time, farmers used the transit center to market their goods.
With the help of grant funding from local businesses and state and federal grants, a building was constructed in 2000, providing a home for State Street Farmer's Market.
The new building offers farmers, vendors and customers on-site restroom facilities, 12-foot wraparound proches to provide farmers and vendors with protection from the elements on not-so-perfect days, and a concessions area serving food and hot and cold beverages.
Find locally grown fruits, vegetables, homemade jams, jellies and breads, and handmade arts and crafts by local artisans. If you make it, grow it , bake it or sow it, you'll find it at State Street Farmer's Market. Special Events: Chef at the Market at 9 AM brought to you by Southeastern Culinary School.
