Historic Downtown Bristol is "GOING GREEN" celebrating St. Patrick's Day!

March 17, 2010 | 12 am

Wikipedia states that originally the color associated with Saint Patrick was blue, not, in fact, green! However over the years the color green and its association with Saint Patrick's Day grew. Green ribbons and shamrocks were worn in celebration of St. Patrick's Day as early as the 17th century. Downtown Bristol is gearing up for St. Patrick’s Day too! From breakfast to after dark specials, you don’t want to miss the “green happenings’” in downtown on Wednesday!

Breakfast specials include Blackbird Bakery with green sprinkled doughnuts, Manna Bagel with green bagels and Java J’s having large Irish Cream Latte’s (including sugar free) all day!

For lunch and dinner try a variety of green specials, KP Duty with a corned beef sandwich, Troutdale Bistro with fish and chips and local pork and cabbage specials, CJ & Co. with a Ruben sandwich and broccoli and cheese soup and Eatz with lots of greens!

In addition O’Mainnin’s, Stateline Bar & Grill, Macado’s, Machiavelli’s and Borderline Billiards will also be going Irish! Green beer and Celtic music will reign throughout the evening!

Planning a party to celebrate? Be sure to call Inari Wines they have several Irish Beers in stock to meet the demand for the day!

If you’re looking for a fun and “green” St. Patty’s Day, come celebrate with downtown Bristol and enjoy all our fun local economy has to offer! We look forward to seeing you on State Street!
