The board of directors for Bristol Recovery Road for Women, Inc would like to invite you to an art show and dinner on Thursday October 2, 2014 at 6:00 pm at the Bristol Train Station. The event is the culmination of an art contest sponsored by BRRW to showcase local talented 2D artists.

Special guest speaker is Lisa Kratz Thomas. Lisa has given thousands of people the courage to change by sharing her stirring account of survival from alcohol abuse, cocaine addiction, prostitution and incarceration. She is especially recognized as the pioneer and leader of an innovative, one-of-a kind, prisoner re-entry program, in the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a speaker and former radio talk show host, Lisa has been able to share her inspiring message of conquering adversity and unleashing potential as well as providing a fresh perspective to helping others transform their lives. This is best illustrated in her highly acclaimed book This is Your Life – Not a Dress Rehearsal.

Today, Lisa travels across the country, to prisons, churches and schools, sharing her story and educating others to use their adversity as an advantage. She believes that pain is the touchstone to spiritual growth and God’s grace provides everyone a second chance. Her story is a 21st Century illustration of 2 Corinthians 5:17 “If anyone is in Christ, she is a new creation. Old things have passed away.”
