Tales from the Moonshine Trade with Kathy Shearer
Kathy Shearer, author of Tales from the Moonshine Trade, will speak at Bristol Public Library on March 27 at 6:00 p.m. in the J. Henry Kegley Meeting Room. Shearer will discuss her book and share stories with the public on local history, including Prohibition and its impact on northeast Tennessee and southwest Virginia. She’ll also have copies of the book available for purchase.
Shearer’s visit coincides with the installation of a new gallery exhibition at the Bristol Public Library titled Teetotalers & Moonshiners: Prohibition in Virginia, Distilled, a traveling exhibition from the Library of Virginia presented with support from Virginia ABC and the Virginia Distillers Association. Teetotalers & Moonshiners will be available and open to the public in the Virgie R. Fleenor Gallery during the library’s hours of operation, from March 20 to April 28, 2018.
