The work of student Josiah Stam will be featured at A Work of Art Gallery & Gifts during November. The title and theme of this exhibit is "Diversity United", displaying the idea that shapes, colors, and strokes can be combined to make something deliberately beautiful, while their differences and uniqueness make them stunning — much like the diversity in our lives, and around the world, still united under one God.

Josiah Stam works in both acrylic and watercolor and is passionate about creating abstracts — many of which he says are inspired and influenced by music. Originally from Iowa, he is now a 17-year-old, home-school student living with his family in Meadowview, VA. Since attending painting classes when he was younger, he has participated in many group shows at the Arts Depot (of which he is now a member) and has won awards in local competitions. Josiah believes that art should reflect the creativity and joy of our Creator, and hopes to pursue a career in art after graduation. All proceeds from work sold in this exhibit will go toward expenses incurred in preparation for the national Bible Bowl competition.

Josiah will host a reception on November 14, 2015 from 2-4pm at A Work of Art Gallery & Gifts, 600 State Street, Bristol, TN.
