UPDATE FROM BCMA & BRRR

December 12, 2011

The Bristol Sessions 1927-1928: The Big Bang of Country Music Box Set is now available for sale at the office of Birthplace of Country Music Alliance. The digitally remastered compilation of the 1927 & 1928 Bristol Sessions includes previously unreleased material and is the first time both the '27 and '28 Sessions have been packaged together.

The box set includes five digitally remastered CDs of the 1927 & 1928 Bristol Sessions, a beautiful, hard bound book with photos, biographies, discographies, lyrics, label shots, and payment ledgers to Bristol Sessions artists. This is a must-have compilation for collectors and an important archive of our nation's music history.

Recently the Bristol Sessions Box Set received two Grammy nominations in the Best Historical Album and Best Album Notes categories. The compilation was released by Bear Family Records in March of this year. The compilation also placed #4 among Rolling Stone Magazine's Top 10 Best Reissues of the Year.

"This is a wonderful achievement," says Birthplace of Country Music Alliance Executive Director Leah Ross. "We congratulate Ted Olson, Christopher King and Chris Zwarg for their hard work and dedication to this project. We also congratulate Bear Family Records. It's another example of how important those recordings really are to the history of American music."

"Johnny Cash once said that the Bristol Sessions are the single most important event in the history of country music," says Birthplace of Country Music Alliance Board President John Rainero. "It's amazing that those recordings are still having an impact, even today."

The Bristol Sessions 1927-1928: The Big Bang of Country Music Box Set is $180 and in stock at The Birthplace of Country Music Alliance, 416 State Street, Suite A, Bristol, TN 37620.
