Bristol Slogan Lapel Pins Available at Outlets

March 26, 2010

The committee coordinating the plans for the upcoming Bristol Slogan Sign Centennial has just placed centennial logo lapel pins into stores through out the city. The bronze die-cut lapel pin depicts the official logo of for this year’s celebration. The logo was created by Chris Hall a graduate of King College and employed by Bristol Virginia Utilities, who along with Bristol Tennessee Essential Services are the primary sponsors of the anniversary.

The Bristol Sign centennial celebration will be held on Friday, April 30 in downtown Bristol. Events will include special guests, John Rose, the official artist for King Feature’s Snuffy Smith, one of the longest running cartoons in history, and Tod Swormstedt, director of the American Sign Museum in Cincinnati Ohio. A special anniversary cake will be prepared by Chef Richards of the Southeast Culinary School. There will be activities throughout the day, culminating with a celebration in front of the Bristol Sign prior to dusk and concluding with an exceptional musical variety show at the Paramount Center. Tickets for the Paramount show entitled THE TIMES OF OUR SIGN will be made available in April.
