BPL welcomes Bristol Local Bud Phillips!

October 13, 2010

On Sunday, October 17th at 3:00p.m., the Bristol Public Library welcomes local author and historian, Bud Phillips, as he promotes his latest book, Ghosts of Bristol. In this collection of stories, Bud Phillips takes readers on a ghostly, and sometimes humorous, journey through the haunted places of Bristol, Virginia and Tennessee.

Included in this work is an extensive sampling of the many and varied ghost tales that have been shared with Mr. Phillips over the past fifty-seven years. In this presentation are tales stretching from the remote past to the present time. They have come from a wide cross section of Bristolians — from the obscure to professionals and leading business people. The stories vary from the deadly serious to the light and humorous. Phillips presents them solely because of public demand. This event is part of the BPL’s ‘Homegrown Series’ focusing on our region’s talent. Mr. Phillips will be signing books at 3:00p.m. in the J. Henry Kegley Meeting Room at the Bristol Public Library. For questions about this event or the ‘Homegrown Series’ please call (276) 645-8780 or visit our website for new information daily at www.bristol-library.org.
