Artists Making A Difference To Regional Storm Victims

May 26, 2011

The 606 State Street Gallery will conduct a fundraising art sale May 20 – June 3, with 100% of the proceeds going to tornado victims in Virginia and Tennessee. Each of the nearly three dozen artists of the State Street Artist’s Cooperative (SSAC) have been encouraged to donate work toward the relief effort, which will result in a diverse selection of art from local and regional artists who want to reach out to those who have lost so much during the recent devastation in our our area,” said Jennifer Molley Wilson, SSAC President.

“The SSAC boasts an unmatched selection of media and styles to suit the tastes of casual shoppers and serious collectors alike,” said Wilson. “Ever-changing work installations at the gallery span across all media and genres, including paintings, drawings, sculpture, glass jewelry, pottery, photography, prints, cards and fine art crafts created by regional artists who have been recognized both nationally, and internationally for their creative vision,” she added. Wilson added that the Storm Relief sale provides an excellent opportunity to purchase art, while helping an excellent cause.
