Art D'Vine Gallery Hop and Wine Tasting

June 10, 2013

Art D'Vine, a gallery hop and wine tasting event, will be held in Downtown Bristol from 6pm to 9pm on Friday, June 14 as part of State of the Arts Weekend. Come out and enjoy the summer night by strolling around our downtown galleries — Kil'n Time, Benjamin Walls Gallery, 606 State Street Gallery, One of a Kind Gallery, blowfish emporium, Pretty Girl Station, The Purple Loon, and Hatching Perspective Gallery. A warm summer’s evening is the perfect time to enjoy fine art and fine wine as you explore the downtown galleries, all of which will be highlighting special events, releases or artists:
* Kil’n Time will be hosting the Little City Roller Girls in the studio, which should make for a fast-paced evening! Kil’n Time will also be hosting the authors and illustrator of Timeless Requiem, a collection of science fiction and horror short stories, for a book signing.
* Benjamin Walls will be showing a new release of a stormy landscape.
* Pretty Girl Station will feature works by artist Catherine Vaughan-Keen, and also have a t-shirt with a State Street scene on sale.
* The featured artists at 606 State Street Gallery are Don Gotterbarn, who works in watercolors, and Nyela Hand Cohoon, who works in oils. The gallery will also host the 606 Jammers for a musical evening!
* Hatching Perspective Gallery will be showing the Virginia High School Senior Art Show.
* A local artist will lead an exciting and creative live arts demonstration at blowfish emporium.
* The Rising Stars Art Show will be held at One of a Kind Gallery, featuring art from local art students. Renee Reed Gilliam will also be at One of Kind, signing her local history book A Century Old and debuting a new children’s book.
* The Grand Opening of 2 Dye 4 will be held in the loft at The Purple Loon.
The event is free of charge, though there is a suggested one-time donation of $5 with the proceeds going to the Arts & Entertainment District. For information about this and other State of the Arts events, visit believeinbristol.org and bristolarts.org, or call 276-644-9700.
