YWCA NETN and SWVA TO HOLD PRESS CONFERENCE

30TH ANNUAL TRIBUTE TO WOMEN- SHARE THE LIGHT

The YWCA NETN and SWVA invites all regional media outlets to join them for a live press conference about this year’s innovative Tribute to Women in celebration of 30 years of recognizing the accomplishments of women. This special announcement will be premiered on the YWCA Facebook page, @ywcatnva, at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 28th.

The YWCA NETN and SWVA Tribute to Women has traditionally taken the form of a yearly gala event, held to honor Tribute Award recipients. The Tribute to Women originated in 1992, born from the YWCA’s commitment to recognize and honor the many contributions made by women in their communities. However, due to the limitations of the COVID crisis, this year’s 30th Annual Tribute to Women will manifest in a unique, one-time-only opportunity where any individual, private organization, or business may honor any special woman for her contributions to the lives of others. The YWCA has developed a unique Tribute to Women website, located at ywcatnva.org, where donors can collaborate with friends, family, or co-workers to personalize a Tribute page celebrating their honoree. These acknowledgments will be made available to donors who contribute a minimum of $125.00. This is a great way to honor, or memorialize, a special woman and give her a moment to shine their light for the whole world to see. Donors may, if preferred, honor with a personalized certificate of recognition, suitable for framing and display, to be mailed to an honoree. These individual donors may choose to honor their special person with a message in their own words on this 8.5” x 5.5” two-sided certificate of recognition.

This year is the 30th annual YWCA Tribute to Women, which marks a full three decades of recognizing exceptional women from the Tri-Cities region. But what sets this year’s Tribute apart is a commitment to help acknowledge and honor or memorialize every special woman, both regionally and worldwide, who has “Shared the Light” to inspire others.

More information about this originative Tribute to Women campaign may be obtained at ywcatnva.org. This celebration of women, that supports women and children in our region while also acknowledging and celebrating the contributions made by the special women in your life, will begin Wednesday, April 28th, 2021, and continue through Sunday, July 4, 2021.
