August 04, 2017

National Farmers Market Week is August 6-12, and the State Street Farmer’s Market will be celebrating with a number of exciting events. On Saturday, August 5 the 2017 limited edition poster will be made available and is free while supplies last. “We’re really excited about the poster this year! We’re tying in something new, and we think our customers and the citizens will really like it. Quantities are truly limited, so you’ll want to get yours early,” said Mike Musick, Recreation Superintendent for the City.

August 5 will also be the date everyone needs to come down and bite into the 17th Annual Corn Fest. Beginning at 10am, free ears of cooked corn on the cob will be available, while supplies last, giving customers a chance to taste test the local product.

The following Saturday, August 12, the market will be hosting its annual Tomato Fest. Beginning at 9am, market customers are encouraged to come out to get their home grown tomato on a fresh baked biscuit while supplies last.

National Farmers Market Week is being celebrated by the Bristol market in so many ways including giving away a limited number of State Street Farmer’s Market t-shirts on both Saturday, August 5 and August 12.

“The way we look at celebrating National Farmers Market Week is, it’s really a celebration of our vendors and our customers. They are who makes our market the success that it is. Coming to the farmer’s market on a Saturday morning or Wednesday afternoon is really destination shopping,” Musick said.
