Nature Featured in New Photography Exhibition at the Bristol Public Library

June 30, 2015

Sherre Sullivan, Bristol’s artist who created the Bristol Public Library’s tile mosaic in the library's rotunda, will be exhibiting at the Virgie R. Fleenor Gallery during the months of July and August.

“Faces of Nature”, Sherre’s photography exhibit at the Bristol Public Library’s Virgie R. Fleenor Gallery, primarily focuses on the flora and fauna of Dickenson County, a region along the crest of the Cumberland Mountain range. “I wanted to capture the flavor of the wilderness and culture in this region of Virginia.” Sullivan has exhibited her paintings in the Virgie R. Fleenor Gallery in the past, but this is her first photography exhibition in the Gallery.

The Virgie R. Fleenor Art Gallery, located in the Bristol Public Library at 701 Goode Street in Bristol, Virginia, is the only free public art gallery in Bristol. Along with the Library’s mission to “Expand Minds, Build Community,” the Gallery provides an exhibition space for award-winning regional artists and artists’ communities.

"Evening Meal" and "Hornet Larvae On Poplar Leaf" are two of the photos from the exhibit which shows from July 2nd through August 31st.
