Meet and Greet with Blackbird Bakery's New Featured Artist!

This months featured artist is Chris Tuttle. He is a Photographer and musician based in Nashville, TN. He will be at the bakery for a meet and greet on Friday, January 16th from 05:30 — 07:30 PM. He and a fellow musician will then begin performing Americana Music at 08:00 PM. Chris has toured with Emmy Lou Harris, The Indigo Girls, Rodney Crowell, and Sheryl Crow. We hope to see you soon at Blackbird!

Bristol Public Library Invites Community Members to Join Focus Groups on Adult Learning and Programming

The Bristol Public Library is planning new programming for adults through the renovated Adult Learning Lab and a new creativity center. To better serve the community, the BPL is asking for community members to serve on focus groups about adult learning, lifelong learning, and adult programming. Focus groups are scheduled for January 20 through February 5 and will last approximately 90 minutes. Sessions will occur during morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend hours to make it most convenient for participants. Participants should be age 18 or older and willing to provide some demographic information such as age. A small thank you gift will be provided to participants.

BCM Museum, Bristol Featured on Covers of VA/TN Vacation Guides

The official 2015 Virginia Travel Guide and Tennessee Vacation Guide have launched, both highlighting Bristol on their covers.

Birthplace of Country Music Museum was chosen as one of three covers the state of Virginia is issuing this year.

The Tennessee Vacation Guide pictures stars of the hit ABC TV show Nashville and Bristol, the Birthplace of Country Music, gets a shout-out alongside the photo of Deacon, Luke and Will rockin' at the Ryman.

In keeping with Tennessee as the "Global Music Destination of Choice," this year's cover design highlights some of the most important and iconic music attractions across the state. More than 550,000 guides are printed annually, as well as an eGuide and TNVG app.

Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion Voted "Best of the Blue Ridge"

Readers of Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine voted Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion "Best Festival" in the periodical's 2015 Best of the Blue Ridge Issue, on newsstands now. More than 5,000 people took part in the poll.

In 2012 Blue Ridge Outdoors readers voted Bristol Rhythm "Best Downtown Festival" and placed Bristol above Nashville and Atlanta as "Best Music Town" in 2013.

"Blue Ridge Outdoors readers are adventure seekers and music lovers," says Leah Ross, executive director of Birthplace of Country Music, the parent organization of Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion. "It's a privilege to be named Best of the Blue Ridge."

The Virginia Creeper Trail was also listed; readers voted the hiking and biking trail "Best Kid-Friendly Destination."
