Why Should You Support Believe in Bristol? Check out our annual campaign!

November 26, 2013
Believe in Bristol is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization composed of dedicated citizens, business owners, government officials and other friends of Bristol who recognize the role a vital downtown plays in preserving and furthering our community’s identity, spirit and economy. As a certified Main Street organization, we work hard to organize broad-based community support and advocacy for our downtown, promote all that our downtown has to offer, preserve and restore the area's classic architectural design, and increase commercial potential through economic restructuring.

Historic Downtown Bristol has more to offer every day – more activities, more shops, more homes, more offices, and more life. But Believe in Bristol needs your support to help us continue our revitalizaiton efforts and make our downtown an even better place to live, work, shop and play! It's thanks to people like you that we have made the great strides that we have in recent years.

As much as has been accomplished through the efforts of Believe in Bristol and our partners, there is still much to do and a huge amount of potential that remains to be tapped! By donating to, volunteering with, and becoming a member of Believe in Bristol, you can be an active part of Bristol's success story. To find out more about what we do and how you can become part of this downtown movement, check out our annual report — http://issuu.com/believeinbristol/docs/bib_ar_2012_2013_final. Believe in Bristol Celebrates Local Small Businesses by Hosting Small Business Saturday® Event in Historic Downtown Bristol

November 26, 2013
Believe in Bristol announced its endorsement of and participation in the fourth annual Small Business Saturday on November 30th. Created by American Express in 2010, Small Business Saturday is a day dedicated to supporting small businesses nationwide. Celebrated every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, the day has given small businesses across the country a huge boost.

Recognizing the importance of supporting small independently-owned businesses in our community, Believe in Bristol is pleased to be a part of Small Business Saturday and its Neighborhood Champion program. The greater Bristol area is encouraged to take part in Small Business Saturday and come downtown on November 30. Stop by to support small businesses and pick up some unique gifts for the holidays.

Look for discounts at Kil’n Time Pottery and Serendipity! We also hear that Santa will be at Cranberry Lane from 11 am – 4pm, so parents grab your cameras and enjoy some food samplings and hot spiced cider while your children visit with Old St. Nick.

Several businesses are also partnering to offer a $200 shopping spree every week until Christmas! Starting on Small Business Saturday, just visit one of the participating businesses and pick up an entry form, then visit 5 other stores on the list in order to enter to win. The first drawing will be for customers entering on Small Business Saturday. Then enter again each week before Christmas with drawings on Saturdays (December 7th, 12th, and 21st). The following businesses are participating: Blakley-Mitchell, blowfish emporium, Green with Envy, KP, Memory Lane Cafe, One of a Kind Gallery, Phyl's of Bristol, The Pink Zebra, 606 State Street Gallery, Studio 6 Apparel, Serendipity Boutique, and Pretty Girl Station.

“Our downtown small businesses have long been a vital part of Bristol. This campaign is an excellent way to remind people about the advantages of supporting our local businesses and celebrating everything they do to support our community. What an opportunity we have to not only start our holiday shopping, but also boost the local economy and enjoy a day in Downtown Bristol,“ stated Kathryn Ragan, Believe in Bristol Board President.

Do your part to help make Small Business Saturday one of the biggest shopping days for our local mom and pop shops!
