Futurebirds — The Futurebirds hail from Athens, GA where they have burst onto the scene and are quickly becoming a hot commodity. The band’s songs have an easy-going Laurel Canyon-type feel. The band has an amazing configuration of instruments that make them easy to listen to, but they also have a good mix of vocal talents as well. In 2009, these folks self-produced and released the six song Futurebirds EP—one of undeniable character. Less than a year later, there was a full-length in the can. That album, Hampton’s Lullaby, garnered praise for its Appalachian harmonies and ethereal melodies. The band toured, and continues to tour in 2011, in support of that collection of songs, as well as in anticipation of two spring releases.

Thrift Store Cowboys — The Thrift Store Cowboys have been touring together for a decade after meeting at the musical South Plains College. Light-Fighter’s indie rock shapeshifts through ambient and Gothic western music for songs that touch on death, loss, fear, redemption, the Spanish Civil War and West Texas ghost stories. All buoyed by soaring violin, draped against bottom-ended guitar and pedal steel sounds that spaghetti western composer Ennio Morricone might envy. The Lubbock-based indie band has released a small number of excellent albums and has toured the country a number of times, all the while garnering more and more positive press.

July 14, 2011
Close your eyes while listening to the sounds of Desperado, Heart Ache Tonight, Take It Easy, Hotel California, Lyin’ Eyes, New Kid in Town, and bring back the memories of where you were in the 80’s listening to the music of The Eagles. You can experience the reflection of this special time in musical history Thursday evening, July 14, 2011 at Bristol’s Downtown Center. The ultimate 7 Bridges experience is a stunningly accurate tribute to the music of the Eagles. Using no backing tracks or harmonizers, 7 Bridges faithfully re-creates an Eagles concert from the band’s most prolific period. Darlene Cole, Venues Manager for the city said, “The show will feature one hit single after another with some Don Henley and Joe Walsh surprises sprinkled into the mix. 7 Bridges offers the perfect blend of songs to capture all levels of the Eagles devotees.” 7 Bridges is a tour de force of talent combining incredible musicianship, vocal precision, and a stage presence that garnered them nationwide acclaim. Come out and enjoy an evening under the stars in beautiful downtown Bristol. Bring your own chair or use one on site. The concert will begin at 7:00 P.M. and as always there is no charge.
