BRANSON ON THE ROAD will perform at the Paramount!

Theatre Rock: AMERICA! Theatre Bristol's Summer Camp

Theatre Rock: AMERICA! Theatre Bristol’s Summer Theatre Camp is open to students who have completed Kindergarten thru 12th grade. The cost is $125 per student. The Cathy DeCaterina School of the Arts will run from July 11-15, 2011. Classes will be from 8:45 am to 3:00 pm. Students will learn acting skills as they take part in songs and skits all with a patriotic theme. The week culminates in a performance at The Paramount Center for the Arts as part of "Tunes at Noon" their summer concert series. Registration Deadline for Summer Dance Camps at Bristol Ballet

Bristol Ballet would like to invite you to come and experience the art of dance at their summer dance camps. Camp for children ages 3-5 and 6-8 will be held June 20-24. Camp fpr children ages 9-11 will be held June 13-18. The advanced summer intensive camp will be held for ages 11 and up from July 11 — 29. Registration deadline is May 31, 2011. Russell County's — Mountain Youth Drama will perform at Theatre Bristol ARTspace TONIGHT!

MOUNTAIN YOUTH DRAMA — Drug and alcohol use, peer and parental pressure, and life in general through the eyes of teens – that’s what Mountain Youth Dramas original sketch comedy and dramatic monologues portray. Mountain Youth Drama will perform for free at Theatre Bristol’s ARTspace on May 26th at 7 p.m. with donations taken to support Theatre Bristol’s theatre opportunities for children. The performance will have special appearances from previous cast members who return to add “flavor” to this year’s current show.

Artists Making A Difference To Regional Storm Victims

The 606 State Street Gallery will conduct a fundraising art sale May 20 – June 3, with 100% of the proceeds going to tornado victims in Virginia and Tennessee. Each of the nearly three dozen artists of the State Street Artist’s Cooperative (SSAC) have been encouraged to donate work toward the relief effort, which will result in a diverse selection of art from local and regional artists who want to reach out to those who have lost so much during the recent devastation in our our area,” said Jennifer Molley Wilson, SSAC President.

BRRR moves full steam ahead!

Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion moves full steam ahead with another stellar line-up, a Carter Family/Jimmie Rodgers Tribute, and a number of positive changes to accommodate a growing fanbase. Last year crowds swelled to 45,000 artists, volunteers and festivarians on State Street during the three-day music festival, 13,000 more than in 2009. This year plans are in the works to add space wherever possible, add seating and another outdoor stage, move the free Children's Day event to Cumblerland Square Park, tighten security and revive the Chili Cook-Off. As seen in last week e-News — Believe in Bristol and the steering committee for the new Arts and Entertainment District of Downtown Bristol are pleased to announce the creation of an arts-based summer camp for children called “Who Art You? Find Yourself at Art Camp”. The camp will be offered for two weeks during the summer, the first session will be held June 27 — July 1, and the second session will be held July 25 -29. The purpose of the art camp will be to expose campers to the vast array of arts experiences there are to be had in Downtown Bristol. During their week at Who Art You? camp, children ages 8-12 will participate in a vast array of creative endeavors including culinary arts, creative movement, music, creative writing, healing arts (yoga), painting, theater performance, martial arts, pottery, and more. In addition daily walking tours, including the Caterpillar Crawl and the Promise Walk will educate campers about the heart of their community.
