R&RR and BCMA News!

November 04, 2010
The Board of Directors of Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion voted unanimouslyMonday night to join forces with the Birthplace of Country Music Alliance. Currently both non-profit organizations operate separately and will continue to do so, but the union will bring the two 501(c)3 organizations together under the same umbrella to share staffing and other resources.

The Board of the BCMA voted unanimously on Friday for the organizations to partner. The organizations will operate with their two existing boards on either side with an executive board overseeing both organizations.

Both organizations have partnered on many projects in the past and have enjoyed a very positive relationship. Everyone looks forward to the collaboration with the higher goals of promoting Bristol's music heritage as the Birthplace of Country Music.

Among the top priorities for both groups will be working together to get the Cultural Heritage Center open for business Downtown. Construction has been ongoing for the project. Once the doors are open, it will not only increase tourism to Downtown Bristol but serve as a great educational arm in the community and region. We will truly preserve our birth right once this museum is open.

"This is an exciting new venture for both organizations," says Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion's Executive Director Leah Ross. "We look forward to working with our friends at the BCMA and getting that Cultural Heritage Center completed. Once it's open, the possibilities of what it will do for the economic impact of our region are boundless."
