The Princess and the Pea

September 09, 2010
(Appropriate for grades Pre-K thru 8th grade)
A non-musical at Theatre Bristol’s ARTspace

Public Performances:
September 11 at 2:30 and 5:30 pm (Tickets $8 and $5)

Young Prince Declan is more interested in playing games than looking for a bride. The court jester comes up with a plan to invite all the princesses from the neighboring kingdoms. The King and Queen agree with the plan and invitations are sent out. As the royal courier goes out and delivers the invitations a witch steals an invitation and shows up as Princess Moira. But the real Princess shows up also. So the tests begin to see who is the real princess.

Bristol Public Library's Discovery Series 2010 Continues with News Journalist Mika Brzezinski

September 09, 2010
Mika Brzezinski is the co-host of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” and Citadel Media’s syndicated radio show, “The Joe Scarborough Show”. She is a veteran anchor and reporter who has covered some of the biggest stories of the past decade; always giving audiences a behind-the-scenes look at the events and people making news. Brzezinski uses her trademark energy and honest message to report on what is important in the world today. Brzezinski engages in a lively question-and-answer session each show, and gives in-depth analysis to audience questions on politics, culture, and the media business.

Prior to joining MSNBC in January 2007, Brzezinski was an anchor of the CBS Evening News Weekend Edition and a CBS News correspondent who frequently contributed to CBS Sunday Morning and 60 Minutes. In September 2001, she was assigned as CBS’s Ground Zero correspondent for the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. She was broadcasting live from the scene when the South Tower collapsed.

Mika Brzezinski will be at Virginia Intermont College on Saturday, September 11th. The presentation will start at 1:30 p.m. in the Kegley Auditorium.

Students selected from area high schools and home schooled will enjoy a private luncheon with the speaker and receive premium seating to the presentation as part of the Bristol Public Library’s Worldview Scholarship Series.

This event is free and open to the public. No ticket is required. Reserved seating is available for a $20 donation to the Bristol Public Library Foundation. The doors of Kegley Auditorium will open at noon.

For questions about this Discovery Series event or any other library programs, call 276.821.6148 or email kathryn@bristol-library.org.
