Music & Movies in Cumberland Square Park Thursday, July 15th!

Cumberland Square Park is a hotbed of family activity on Thursday evenings in July. For the second year, BVU and Bristol Virginia Parks and Recreation Department have partnered to bring the community Music and Movies in the Park. Thursday the 15th will feature live music with Wolf Creek starting at 6:30 pm. The family-friendly movie starting at 8:45 is FIREPROOF; in honor of the movie we will have some interesting visitors come to welcome you! Food and drinks will be available for purchase. All movies and concerts are free to the public.

DRAMA CLUB CAMP 2010 SHOWCASE AT THE PARAMOUNT FRIDAY, JULY 16 @ 7:00PM

“The arts can transform a young person’s life,” says Mark Salyer, one of the founders of ARTreach, the LA based production company presenting DRAMA CLUB CAMP 2010, a week long performing arts camp at Emory and Henry College this summer.

July 11 – 16, students ages 10 – 18 will work with professional teaching artists, including Broadway actress/director/choreographer Kay Cole (original Maggie in A Chorus Line) Tony Abatemarco (director of B’way’s Lucifer’s Child with Julie Harris) Henson puppeteer Allan Trautman, original member of LA’s Groundlings improv troupe, Patrick Bristow (Ellen Show, Suite Life of Zach and Cody, Austin Powers) and more.

Drama Club Camp Showcase will be presented on Friday, July 16 @ 7:00PM at the Paramount Center for the Arts!. Drama Club Camp is a weeklong camp at Emory & Henry College as part of the ARTreach program for young performers. The camp features classes and workshops for students ages 10 and up. Don’t miss this presentation! Canned food donations accepted.

Come out for a fun filled evening of gold under the starts at Big Hollow Par III in Blountville starting at 9 pm. Prizes will be awarded for the top 3 teams in each devision, along with closest to the pins contest and other great prizes!

The fifth summer concert of the year will be Friday,July 16th, 2010. The evening’s events will start with children’s activities, crafters, and concessions at 6PM, LIVE music begins at 7:00PM with Boulder Acoustic Society followed by Shotgun Party starting at approximately 8:30PM.
