Machiavelli's 4-Day Under the Tent Event!

October 31 – November 3, 2013

Come to Machiavelli's for the Under the Tent event from Thursday, October 31 to Sunday, November 3. Tickets: $15 single-day, $30 3-day pass, $30 Sunday ticket; tickets are available at Machiavelli's or via www.brownpapertickets.com — for further information, contact Machiavelli's at 423-573-9955.

There will be no tricks, only musical treats when Machiavelli’s stretches Halloween clear into November with this four-day music event that concludes with what could be the last chance to see Dr. Ralph Stanley perform in Bristol.

“The lineup of performers we have scheduled to appear is incredible,” said Justin Peters, Owner, Machiavelli’s. “For four days, those in attendance will have the opportunity to hear both established performers who have garnered national acclaim, as well as emerging artists whose careers are poised for launch,” he added.

“In either case, not only does this event speak volumes about the caliber of musicians who look forward to playing in Bristol, but it also is high praise indeed of the impact Dr. Ralph’s life has had on the music industry.”

The event kicks off on Thursday, October 31, with performances by regional favorites Folk Soul Revival, Annabelle’s Curse, and the critically acclaimed Jonathan Scales Fourchestra.

On Friday, November 1 the music continues as East Tennessee State Bluegrass program alumni, The Twang Bangers, prepare to share the evening with genre cross-through genius, Dave Eggar and close collaborators, the Craig Street Ramblers. Saturday, November 2, opens with Johnson City band, this mountain, the iconic Jim Lauderdale, and the return of Dave Eggar and Kentucky group, the Whiskey Bent Valley Boys.

The music gets underway at 6pm Thursday through Saturday.

The Dr. Ralph Stanley Farewell Tour begins at 3pm on Sunday, November 3, with performances by Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys, Jim Lauderdale and Dave Eggar.

Bluegrass legend Dr. Ralph Stanley launched his final tour this month, and it spans an entire year through December 2014. The 80-plus-date excursion is billed as the Man of Constant Sorrow Tour: The Dr.'s Farewell. The tour will coincide with Stanley’s 67th year of performing.

Stanley and Lauderdale collaborated on two Grammy Award winning albums, I Feel Like Singing Today in 2000, and Lost in the Lonesome Pines in 2002. Eggar and Stanley collaborated on the Grammy nominated album in 2010, Kingston Morning.

A reception for Dr. Ralph Stanley will be held on Sunday following the show at 618 State Street, Bristol, TN. A table for six for this intimate event can be reserved for $500. Contact Machiavelli’s at 423-573-9955 for additional information.
