Art Smart classes at the Bristol Public Library
November 09, 2013 | 12 am
After a short summer break ArtSmart classes have returned to the Bristol Public Library. ArtSmart, a collaboration between the William King Museum and the Library, began last February and was highly successful. Offered on the second Saturday of each month from 10 AM until 11:30 AM, ArtSmart will be taught in the J. Henry Kegley Meeting Room at the Bristol Public Library. Cost is $5 per child which covers the purchase of art supplies.
Designed for grades 2-5 ArtSmart coordinates the Bristol classes with the William King exhibits. Taught by Joyce Kistner, a long-time art teacher in the Bristol Virginia City Schools and acclaimed local artist, the classes give children a bit of history and art background along with hands-on fun and creativity with art activities. Class size is limited to 24 children so parents should register their child as soon as possible. Registration can be done over the phone by calling 276-645-8781 as of September 4.
