Theatre Bristol is holding open auditions for Rumpelstiltskin!

July 19, 2011

Theatre Bristol is holding open auditions for Rumpelstiltskin on Tuesday, July 26th and Wednesday, July 27th at 7 p.m. Rumpelstiltskin will work his magic at Theatre Bristol’s ARTspace in September as the first show on the Discovery Series for Young Audiences Season. No prior experience is needed, nor any prepared materials. Please bring a calendar of any potential conflicts, appropriate footwear and enthusiasm! Rumpelstiltskin is made up of a cast approximately 10 of actors ages 10 and up.

Adapted from the well-known Brothers Grimm tale by Michele L. Vacca, Classics on Stage of Chicago, Illinois, this version of Rumpelstiltskin is a lively and comic journey through a magical kingdom where straw can be spun into gold and an humble miller’s daughter can become queen. In an inspired twist on the traditional story, the mischievous title character has his fun constantly interrupted by a nagging wife. Fast-paced and funny enough for even the youngest audiences, but still entertaining to older children and adults, this show promises to be a great hit for all ages.

Rumpelstiltskin is directed by long time Theatre Bristol veteran, Sharon Flake, who most co-directed I Hate Shakespeare at Theatre Bristol.

Performances of Rumpelstiltskin are September 8-23, 2011. All performances will be in Theatre Bristol’s ARTspace.
