Summertime and Art D'Vine in Downtown Bristol!

July 09, 2012

After marking the Fourth of July in grand style, we have another reason to get out and celebrate: it’s officially summer! And now that the hot days of summertime are well and truly here, Downtown Bristol is celebrating with another Art D’Vine, a gallery hop and wine-tasting event on State Street. On Friday, July 13, the downtown gallery owners of Bristol would like to invite the public to come down and enjoy Art D’Vine from 6 pm to 9 pm. “Talk about community involvement, Art D’Vine is the place to be,” says Bethany Wilson, owner of blowfish emporium. “It’s all about local – local galleries showing local artwork – all while enjoying a sip of wine at each gallery as you art-hop throughout Downtown Bristol. It’s sure to be a fun evening that always gives back to your own community.”

Gallery-hoppers are invited to stroll through Downtown Bristol, stopping and enjoying the wonderful art at Kil’n Time, Benjamin Walls Gallery, CityMug, 606 State Street Gallery, One of a Kind Gallery, and blowfish emporium. Each of the galleries will be featuring a different wine varietal, which participants are invited to sample, and gallery-hoppers who go to all 6 galleries will have their names included in a drawing for a gift certificate from a local eatery.

Art D’Vine participants who have attended prior events are encouraged to come out again as each gallery always features something new from one hop to the next. Kil’n Time will be hosting artist Nadya Warthen-Gibson, who will be doing live demonstrations and sharing her painting and sculptural work. Brand new this month, Benjamin Walls' new release image "Rime" will be displayed in a massive 5' x 7' size. Also, don't miss his 2012 new releases, including “Shrimp'n for Sunrise,” “Park, Impression,” and “Impressions.” Along with over 30 other local artists, 606 State Street Gallery will feature the work of Bill Peterson, wood carver, historical writer, and storyteller, and Joan Stenger, who works with acrylic, thread painting, and other media, at July’s Art D’Vine. The 606 Jam Band will also be playing live music. The latest watercolor by renowned Bristol artist Ernestine Blanton will be debuting at One of a Kind Gallery.

This Art D’Vine is sure to be another fantastic event, and a great opportunity to take advantage of the lovely weather and make the most of a Friday evening in Downtown Bristol.
