State Street Farmers Market Call for Vendors — 2012 Market Season Nears!

April 11, 2012

The fields are being plowed, the greenhouses are full of fresh young plants, the workdays are getting longer for the farmers......it must be Farmers Market season. With that in mind, the State Street Farmers Market is taking booth reservations for the 2012 season. To be a part of the State Street Farmers Market vendors may go on-line to www.statestreetfarmersmarket.org and complete an application on-line or print the document and mail to State Street Farmers Market, PO Box 1189, Bristol, TN 37621. Included in the booth space rental are one eight-foot table and two chairs. Market rules and regulations are also available on the website. If you have any questions, please contact Terry Napier or Crystal Key at 423-764-4023 or e-mail at tnapier@bristoltn.org or ckey@bristoltn.org.

With over 14,000 fresh food enthusiasts attending last year’s market, it only makes sense to be a part of the market, meet new customers, and establish a new retail outlet for your produce or products. “The market will open on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at a bright an early 8 AM,” said Terry Napier, Director of Parks and Recreation, the department that oversees market operations. “This market continues to grow and our farmers continue to thrive with the renewed interest of local folks wanting to purchase locally grown fruits and vegetables. It is just a place where everyone feels welcome and there is always something going on,” continued Napier.

Bristol’s State Street Farmers Market was organized in 1999 and is located at 810 State Street. The market’s operating hours are from 8AM to 12 Noon each Saturday from May through October. The market begins evening hours each Wednesday beginning in July and going through September. The evening hours are from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
