State Street Farmers Market Begins Wednesday Evening Hours

July 11, 2012

The State Street Farmers Market is in the middle of one of its most successful seasons with lots of vendors, both produce and craft, citing this year as just another great year at the market. Market officials announced the Wednesday evening market openings to begin on Wednesday, July 11, 2012. “Everyone seems to really enjoy the evening markets. It gives our customers an opportunity to come to the market right after work, pick up fresh produce to serve on that evening’s dinner table. The response has been extremely positive in the past couple of years,” said Terry Napier, Director of Parks and Recreation, the city department that oversees market operations.

The State Street Farmers Market is open on Saturdays, May through October and on Saturdays and Wednesdays July through September. Market hours on Saturdays are 8:00 AM to 12 Noon and on Wednesdays from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

A limited edition farmer’s market poster series is available at no charge during market hours each Saturday and Wednesday. A new poster design is offered at the beginning of each month during the 6-month market season and will be obtainable until the supply is depleted.
The State Street Farmers Market opened in 1999 at 810 State Street at the Downtown Center.
