Real Women Pick Pink Bristol Sign Lighting

September 24, 2012

October 1 — Real Women Pick Pink Bristol Sign Lighting • 7:30 pm • Bristol Train Station Circle
The public is invited to attend this free event. It’s a celebration of life, music & independence. It’s Real Women Pick Pink, a month-long observance to raise awareness about breast cancer. Visit http://realwomenpickpink.comfor more information.

On October 1, 2012, the century old Bristol sign will undergo a dramatic transformation. In an effort to raise awareness of National Breast Cancer Month, the more than 1,000 white bulbs in the sign will be replaced with pink. The changing of the sign is the first event of the month-long observation which ends with a female-centric music event on October 20. Proceeds from the event will benefit local cancer education and patient care through Wellmont Cancer Institute and Tri-Cities Susan G. Komen For The Cure.

Nearly everyone has been touched by breast cancer. If you know someone who has fought breast cancer, consider honoring them by sponsoring a pink bulb in the Bristol Sign. For $20, the spirit, current fight and memory of your friend or loved one can burn brightly with others to cast a unified message of hope, recovery and love. Sponsorship is available for $20/bulb, and you and your honorees will be acknowledged in online promotions and banners at the October 1 and October 20 events. Download your memory bulb order form here.
