Pumpkin Palooza and Trick-or-Treat!

October 22, 2012

On Saturday, October 27, 2012 there will be plenty to do in Downtown Bristol for the entire family. Beginning early Saturday morning at the State Street Farmers Market, the Bristol Tennessee Parks & Recreation Department will partner with Believe in Bristol to host the fourteenth annual Pumpkin Palooza event! There will be fun and games galore. Children can take a few minutes to decorate a pumpkin, and then participate in the costume parade. There will be treat bags for kids of all ages to take home along with the pumpkin they decorated. Pumpkin Palooza will take place at the Downtown Center located at 810 State Street from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and then Trick-or-Treat downtown until noon or as treats last!

Once you decorate your pumpkin and walk in the costume parade, continue down State Street to trick–or-treat with participating merchants. You can also enjoy additional activities on State Street thanks to the Believe in Bristol Arts & Entertainment District. One of a Kind Gallery will be painting faces ($1.00 per cheek), and Mountain Empire Comics is celebrating their 28th Anniversary in Downtown Bristol with Halloween 2012 COMIC FEST! There is a special sale going on October 22 through 31 featuring Freebies, Sales, and "The $50 Box ". On Saturday October 27th, there will be special guests and refreshments, and anyone who visits the shop in costume during the sale gets a free comic! Top Hat Magic Supply is celebrating Trick or Treat on Sixth Street by having a storewide 10% off sale, and a treat for the kiddies. Master Illusionist, Dave Vaught, will perform live tricks and magic demonstrations throughout the day. Come and help Bridgeforth Design Studio celebrate their ONE YEAR Anniversary! Brian and Marie will be handing out treats to the kids and adults in costume. Children are invited to color a piece of artwork there in the studio, or take a sheet to color at home. Light refreshments will be served. Holly Help Spay-Neuter Fund will give away free wallet alert cards and pet trick-or-treats for children to take home and share with their pets. Anyone who visits in costume can enter a free raffle to win a Rally to Rescue Adoption T-Shirt, Pet Bandana, and matching Bumper Sticker.

Please note that Twin City Photo Club will be available during Pumpkin Palooza to take a “spooky” photo of your child for purchase. For more information please visit www.bristoltn.org or believeinbristol.org or call 276-466-9700.
