Meet-and-Greet Reception for Bristol, VA New City Manager!

March 11, 2010

Residents of Bristol and the surrounding region are invited to meet Bristol Virginia’s new city manager, Dewey Cashwell, at a public reception on Tuesday, March 16. The event will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the historic Train Station on the corner of State Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

“Dewey has been on the job for a month now, and we are excited to provide an opportunity for the members of our community to come out and meet him in this informal setting,” says Mayor Jim Rector. “He has been a busy man already, meeting with city leadership and staff members – but this reception will be a great time for the people of Bristol to welcome Dewey to our city. We encourage everyone to attend.”

Light refreshments will be served at the reception, and Cashwell will make a brief statement at approximately 5:30 p.m.

Cashwell began his duties on Feb. 15, 2010. He is a native of Charlottesville, Va., and he and his wife, Sandy, have relocated to Bristol from South Padre Island, Texas.
