Local Author and Award-Winning Bristol Herald Courier Writer, David McGee, to Have a Book-Signing and Presentation at the Bristol Public Library

Local author and award-winning writer for the Bristol Herald Courier, David McGee, will be hosting a book-signing and presentation to the public for his newest book Tales of Bristol Motor Speedway on Thursday, June 23rd at 6pm.

David McGee is no stranger to NASCAR or Bristol Motor Speedway. He is the lead announcer for BMS and has been a member of the announcing staff since 1998. McGee has also authored two other books — Bristol Motor Speedway and Bristol Dragway, in Arcadia Publishing's Images of Sports series. The newest addition to his collection is Tales of Bristol Motor Speedway published by The History Press.

Tales of Bristol Motor Speedway is a “160-page chronicle of some of the most significant events in the 50-year timeline of Bristol Motor Speedway, one of the most popular sports venues in the world,” says McGee. The book includes history, drama, and other interesting facts about the venue. This is a must-read for NASCAR and Bristol Motor Speedway fans!

Joining McGee will be Kevin Triplett, Vice President of Public Affairs at Bristol Motor Speedway and the Winston Cup Championship, an d Fred Hayter, who has attended all 101 NASCAR Series Cup Races at Bristol starting with the first race in July 1961. A possible surprise guest may arrive, John A. Utsman, who helped Benny Parsons win the 1973 Volunteer 500.

This event will be held in the J. Henry Kegley Meeting Room at the Bristol Public Library.

David McGee’s presentation is free and open to the public.
