"Journey of Images" exhibit on display at the Bristol Public Library's Virgie R. Fleenor Art Gallery during the month of June!

“Journey of Images” , an exciting and eclectic exhibit of artwork by Art of the Highlands, a group composed of five women artists, E. Mynard Blanton, Joyce Kistner, Claudia Rutherford, Kitty Williams and Joyce Samuel, will be featured in the Bristol Public Library’s Virgie R. Fleenor Gallery for the entire month of June. In this exhibit, each artist will use a variety of subject themes and techniques.

The award-winning artists from Art of the Highlands have exhibited at Virginia Intermont College, Zazzy’z Café in Abingdon, VA, Wild Flower Gallery, the Red Lantern Inn, K.P. Duty, CJ & Company Restaurant, and the Paramount Theatre in Bristol, TN.

The exhibit will include various media such as oil, watercolor, acrylic and collage. A pastel piece, called “Repose,” of a ballerina dressed in a long, pink, elegant costume by Kitty Williams will be displayed. “Twist of Nature” by Joyce Kistner is an acrylic artwork of a large fallen tree in Yosemite National Park. Joyce Samuel will exhibit “Floral Frenzy,” a poured watercolor and an array of flowers.

This display runs June 1st -30th at the Bristol Public Library in the Virgie R. Fleenor Art Gallery. The library is open Monday- Thursday 9 a.m.-8 p.m., Friday- Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sundays 2 p.m.-5 p.m. For questions about the Art Gallery or any other library programs, call 276.821.6148.
