The City of Bristol Tennessee has hired Brian Rose as the new Community Development and Planning Director. He attended the University of Utah where he studied architecture before transferring to Arizona State University where he received his Bachelors and Master’s degree in Urban and Environmental Planning.

“I am pleased to welcome Brian to city. He clearly has a grasp of planning and how it can shape the future look and feel of our city. He understands the importance of embracing collaboration with our private sector and strong customer service,” said Bill Sorah, City Manager. “We have complete confidence that he will be of great benefit to the Community Development and Planning Department.”

Rose began work on Monday, January 4 and will oversee planning, building, code enforcement and permitting.

“I love Bristol already. I am amazed by the Bristol Motor Speedway and am looking forward to touring the facility. I love the downtown, it is so walkable. I love the artists’ murals that appear on some of the buildings, the historic feel of downtown is amazing. The people here seem so genuinely open, warm, and hospitable. I love the fact that I now live in the Birthplace of Country Music,” stated Rose when asked what he thought of the city.

Rose likes to fish and play golf in his leisure time. He and his wife have five children ranging in ages 5 months to 9 years old.
