Citizen's Municipal Academy Deadline Fast Approaching — get your application in now!

October 07, 2013

The deadline for Bristol’s Citizen’s Municipal Academy is only a few days away — Monday, October 14, 2013. There is a limit to the number of citizens that can be accommodated, so please get your application in as soon as possible. The academy begins on October 17, 2013 and will run through December 3, with a graduation ceremony taking place during the city council meeting. Each week the class will meet on Thursday evenings for two hours at different locations throughout the city. During the class participants will have the opportunity to meet most all administrative staff including the City Manager, Fire Chief, Police Chief and other department heads. “One of the nice things is there are no tests,” laughed Terrie Talbert, Community Relations Director. “The academy is very laid back. There are no dress codes so come as you are. A light dinner will be served due to the hours of the classes. There is plenty of one-on-one time with the different speakers and they are always happy to address any questions one might have.” To apply for the academy, go to the city website at www.bristoltn.org/cma.cfm and complete the application electronically or stop by the Bristol Public Library or City Hall (City Manager’s Office) and pick up the application. For more information, please contact Terrie Talbert at 423-764-4171 or email tsmith-talbert@bristoltn.org .
