Check Out and Download Digital Books Free with Your Library Card.

December 08, 2010

The Regional e-Book and Audio Book Download System (R.E.A.D.S.) allows all Bristol Public Library patrons to download digital versions of print books and digital audio books to their home computers, audio players, phones, and e-Book readers. To access these materials, patrons need a valid library card, internet access, and a computer or portable device for the e-book. The R.E.A.D.S system software is provided free of charge from your library’s website at http://www.bristol-library.org/resources/ebooks-audiobooks.

Lending periods vary from title to title and there are never any late fees. At the end of the loan period, titles will expire and are automatically “returned” to the library.

The Nook e-book reader, available at Barnes and Noble, is fully compatible with R.E.A.D.S. and is the recommended e-book reader of the Tennessee Library Association. Applications from the iTunes stores are also available to allow the transfer of e-books to Apple devices.

To find the R.E.A.D.S. system, and other online resources, visit the library’s website at www.bristol-library.org or call (276) 821- 8780 for more information.
