Calling all artists — and a live audience! It's time for State of the Arts Artist Power Hour Competition!

June 16, 2014

Calling all artists — and a live audience! We want YOU to participate in an exciting art event as part of Believe in Bristol’s State of the Arts Weekend on June 20–22, 2014. On Saturday, June 21, 11am–12 noon, there will be an Artists' Power Hour art competition at the Farmers' Market in Historic Downtown Bristol. This event is free and open to all varieties of artisans: painters, sculptors, jewelry makers, collage enthusiasts, woodcarvers, art improv, photography – we want them all! Artists will have one hour to start and finish their art project in front of the Farmers' Market audience. Artists should bring their own supplies, table or easel, along with a tip jar, and should be set up and ready to go by 11am. There will be three winners to represent three categories:
* People’s Choice (voted on by our live audience at the Farmers' Market)
* Artists’ Choice
* Most Tips.
The People’s Choice winner will be featured on the Believe in Bristol website as well as the BIB and A&E District Facebook pages, and also be displayed in one of the galleries in Historic Downtown Bristol for one month. For information about other State of the Arts events, please visit www.believeinbristol.org or www.bristolarts.org. Thank you to the City of Bristol, TN for their help with this event.
