Bristol Public Library's Discovery Series Presents Liquid Assets – Thursday, July 28th, at 6:30 p.m.

July 25, 2011

Keep Bristol Beautiful and the American Society of Civil Engineers will be co-sponsoring Liquid Assets on Thursday, July 28th at 6:30pm as a part of the Bristol Public Library’s 2011 Discovery Series. This is the rescheduled event due to the postponement because of a tornado warning on May 26, 2011. Liquid Assets explores the history, engineering, political and economic challenges of our water infrastructure, and engages communities in local discussion about public water and wastewater issues.

A 15 minute documentary will be shown about the critical role of water in public health and economic prosperity, followed by a question and answer session with Ms. Ingrid Luffman, ETSU Geosciences; Dr. Brajesh Dubey, ETSU Environmental Health; and Mr. David L. St. John, Water Plant Superintendent for the City of Bristol, TN.

A Children’s Session will be held concurrently with the documentary and discussion in the Children’s Department where Mr. St. John will show them water magic, how to make snow, and many other interesting and entertaining water-related activities.

Liquid Assets will be presented in the J. Henry Kegley Meeting Room at the Bristol Public Library. This event is Free to the Public, so come join us for this informative documentary and discussion.
