Bristol Convention & Visitors Bureau To Offer Photoshop Elements Workshop

The Bristol Convention & Visitors Bureau will host a series of Digital Discovery Workshops to help participants integrate creative technology options into business and personal projects. Led by photographer and digital artist, Malcolm J. Wilson, the workshop series begins with “A Basic Introduction to Photoshop Elements” on May 5, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm at the Bristol Chamber of Commerce.

This one-day introductory workshop will detail image correction, retouching, sizing and manipulation. Discussions and demonstrations will include ways to use digital photography and image manipulation software professionally, personally and artistically. Wilson will demonstrate the use of Photoshop and/or Photoshop Elements digital tools as an outlet for creativity. A demonstration Of Corel Painter Essentials, as well as HDR (High Dynamic Range) photography will also be included.

For nearly 20 years, Wilson has worked with digital photography. Before moving to Bristol, Tennessee several years ago, he worked as a commercial photographer in Cincinnati for 19 years. He currently uses his digital photography skills in advertising and marketing work and for his personal fine arts projects. His photography has been exhibited in both the Appalachian region and nationally, and his work is included in permanent collections at the University of Kentucky Appalachian Center, Southeast Community College Appalachian Archives, The Kennedy Center Gallery and Archives and the Julia Louis Dreyfuss Collection.

Cost for the workshop is $69 for Bristol Chamber members and $89 for non-members, with proceeds benefitting the Bristol Convention & Visitors Bureau.
